Montecristo—”蒙特克里斯托”(基督山伯爵)之名源自1844年大仲马的小说基度山恩仇记。自1935年由 Alonzo Menendez和Pepe Garcia创立该品牌以来(当时名称为“the H. Upmann Montecristo Selection”)，蒙特雪茄至今仍然是哈瓦那雪茄中最受世人欢迎的。
